Co-codamol contains two medicines: paracetamol and codeine. Codeine/Paracetamol helps to relieve pain. Paracetamol helps to block the nerves that transmit the pain impulse to the brain. Codeine helps to reduce the brain’s awareness of these pain impulses. Always read the leaflet before the use of medication.
